We are writing with a heavy heart to share some important news regarding the upcoming NATO Days Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days 2024 event. Due to the critical situation caused by recent flooding, the organizers have made the difficult decision to cancel the event, originally scheduled for September 21st and 22nd, 2024.
We understand this news may be disappointing, especially for those who were looking forward to our planned CometJet meet-up during the airshow. The CometJet Admin Team fully supports the decision by the organizers. The safety and well-being of everyone involved, along with expressing solidarity with emergency personnel currently battling the flood's effects, is our top priority.
Here's a statement from the NATO Days organizers:
"It was the most unprecedentedly difficult decision for us in the entire 24-year history of the event. We think that the current difficult situation is not suitable for holding the event and we want to express solidarity with all the deployed members of the Fire and Rescue Service, the Police of the Czech Republic, the Army of the Czech Republic, rescuers, city policemen and many others who are and will be deployed to deal with the consequences of the flood and especially with the citizens affected by it."
We'll be sure to keep you updated on all the details for next year's event, including the meet-up location and time. It is possible that we will organize a meeting during another event, sooner than next year.
